BARNES Art made waves on the shores of Miami

Events

16/01/2019

BARNES and Art, two words that were destined to be together. Heidi Barnes, the founder of BARNES, has always been passionate about art, and so it was only natural that BARNES ART would be born.

This BARNES department organizes “pop-up” exhibitions in major cities around the world for our clients to discover the works of renowned contemporary artists. We welcome contemporary art lovers, collectors and admirers to private viewings, some of our most exclusive events.

It goes without saying, BARNES ART throws a number of events during one of the world’s largest art fairs: Art Basel Miami.

This year, BARNES ART arranged an artistic meeting with the internationally-recognized graffiti artist Kongo, at the Swan restaurant – the result of a partnership between Pharrell WilliamsDavid Grumman, and the famous Chef Jean Imbert – in the heart of the Design DistrictCraig Robins, art lover and co-founder of the Design District, and Pharrell Williams were in attendance, in addition to art collectors such as the Iragorri family and galleries like Rofaïda Zaïd – a curator and frequent collaborator of Heidi Barnes – and Juliette Longuet. There was talk that a limited line of furniture made by Kongo in collaboration with James Duncan, an American designer, could be in the works. Meetings like this are important for expanding creative networks, and even serve as new sources of inspiration.

The launch of Art Park was another Art Basel highlight. This extraordinary cultural space brought together Patrice Meignan and Philippe CombresRofaïda Zaïd and Stephan Junillon du Tigny, among the exhibited works of Pharrell, Luka Sabbat (Free Money), Daniel Arsham, and Arielle Pytka (the talented daughter of director Joe Pytka). Cocktails were provided by the Luxury Living Group – Olga Vignatelli and Gabriel Erem, big names on the interior design and decor scene.

The week ended at the luxurious Marquis, where we organized a vernissage or private viewing for the young artist Charly Molina (son of a Belgian ambassador to Miami), where Kongo gave him the blessing of being his artistic godfather. Kongo had also just been commissioned by Chanel to work on their Arts et Métiers collection. It was a wonderful evening, attended by many Street Art collectors, Hollywood producers like Fernand Talpe of Private Collections, personalities from the fashion world such as Hugo Matha and Guillaume Lehideux (Ullens), and Cyril Bismuth, a jewelry designer beloved by Karl Lagerfeld.

It’s no secret, Miami knows how to party, and put on a firework ending to a magnificent week of Art Basel. We look forward to next year, December 2019, to celebrate all the new projects already on their way.

Today, however, we’re thinking about our coming artistic encounters, which will take place in Milan on March 5th, at Via Montenapoleone, of Luxury Living Group, and then in Paris. As a matter of fact, Heidi Barnes, with her innate artistic sensibilities, has a talent for bringing together the most important people in all facets of the luxury and creative industries: arts, fashion, design, innovation. This event will surprise and delight collectors, celebrities, and enthusiasts.

Art is a dynamic way to open new doors to new experiences, new discoveries, new artists, and extraordinary new creations.
